I am selling the 2001 New Shape Renault Clio 1.5dci diesel that I bought for my younger brother and dad to share a few years back. Unfortunately it was involved in an accident a few weeks back (no one else was involved) and we have decided for various reasons not to repair the car ourselves. The car was insured third party fire and theft. I have spoken to a few friends of mine in the trade and they say it is a fairly straight forward repair.

Just to be clear, we have not claimed from the insurance so the car is still HPI CLEAR and UNRECORDED. I did a check on the car today just to confirm.

The car is the desirable 1.5dci diesel that does 60mpg yet the Road Tax is £30 for 12 months! Car is very cheap insurance too - Group 4. Ideal for a young driver.

I have service history for when we have had the car (approx 2 years) but do not have anything previous. The car was serviced in Jan 2010 and this included new glow plugs, oil and filters. While we have owned the car it has also had a new alternator and we bought a new key from Renault to fix a common issue with the alarm. All works great.

You can see from the pictures the damage. It needs a new front wing, a bumper and headlight and wing mirror glass. Clio parts are very cheap. Lots about on ebay. The front wing is actually plastic and costs around £25 brand new!! The bonnet can actually repair. The car does have some suspension damage as you can see from the picture - the front passenger side wheel has moved forward. I am no expert but I think it needs a wishbone. Other then that the side airbag on the passenger side has been deployed. A few dents and scuffs around and needs a clean up but would make a good cheap car.

It is an ideal second car for someone that has an expensive to run toy like an exotic jap car.

The car is MOT'd and Taxed until the end of April 2011. It runs and drives fine.

I have had a look on Auto trader and New shape Clio 1.5dci Diesels 5dr seem to hold good money. Cheapest ones which are 5dr and have similar mileage and of a similar age are around the £2000++ mark.

I would like half so want £1000 minimum for the car as it is. It will not cost alot to fix and the car is HPI Clear, Mot and Taxed until April 2011 and once repaired can be put straight on the road.
