Nissan Unveils Deltawing-based Car
So er, Nissan released this today...
This isn't a concept or an artists impression or anything, this is an actual real race car that will compete at Le Mans. It's based on the 'Deltawing' idea which is a design from America where this group of desginers took the rules for IndyCar and started from scratch to produce an entirely new type of car.
In the current style for reducing engine size and increasing efficiency, the Nissan car uses a 1.6 turbo engine producing 300bhp. The car only weighs 475kg, so that's 630bhp/ton. There are some other pretty amazing stats for the car, the entire transmission weighs only 33kg, the engine is only 70kg. You can read more here:

Can't help but think it should be driven by a bloke in a pointy eared mask... Looks great though...
i like that it reminds me of the thrust ssc, its just a bit smaller and a bit slower than the ssc though :drool:
