New pioneer radio, handbrake wiring...
Ok, so pioneer seem to have got round the old handbrake wire to earth trick to enable video on the move, but I'm having trouble understanding this. After a bit of a search it seems that a toggle switch is the way to go as the new units require a double pulse system. I.e Off, on, off again.
Looking at the diagram, would you just put the handbrake wire to a switched 12v SUPPLY.
If so, surely i can use a push to make switch?
Yeah, just a little momentary switch you press twice.
That's what i thought mate, cheers for confirming.
What a strange way to do it though, I mean, how many handbrakes actually have a positive side? Surely pioneer are inviting the bypass to be done?
theres quite a few systems like that, my turbo timer is the same, so ive had to wire a relay to it to get the 12v
I'm not so sure mate, people on the forums are saying it needs to be a 3 way toggle switch, apparently it has to be grounded?
Can't see how that's gonna work though?
What model is the unit?
It's the Pioneer SPH-DA01 or more commonly know as the AppRadio

I did see this earlier mate, and did have it working before the final install. Then it stopped! Maybe i'll have it back out tomorrow and double check the wiring?
Cheers for the search and help though
