The metal parcel shelf in the back of my is200?

I think it's stifling the creativity of my sub!

Am considering putting a couple of vents in between the speakers already there, would that make any difference?

No matter how I set the eq I get either loud muddy bass or quiet crisp bass, but nowhere clean clean and loud at the same time.

I reckon it's because of the metal coffin it's stuck in when it was used to a nice big coupe boot with a thin Non metal shelf above it.

Take the rear speakers out. All SPL BMW's etc. have rear speakers removed and it makes a huge difference. Rear 6x9's are just not needed unless you care what the back passengers listen to? even then they can hear the front components anyway.

I thought about that but I actually prefer having the sound coming from behind me more and the front speakers quieter. Makes it much easier to have the music louder and still be able to have a conversation in the front without shouting at each other.

Took me that long to type the reply to Phil didn't see your two replies and the vote seems pretty unanimous lol... but not hundred percent convinced.

On the way home from work I stopped at the service station, opened the plastic cover and put the armrest down, but what the hell is that half a zip bag all about?

Would taking that plastic cover and bag off do the trick perhaps?

That can help mate, and it's not too hard to remove.

If you search p.lindboms thread you'll see he out the sub pointing out the ski hatch into the car.
