i am finally upgrading to a 1997 VR4 legnum which has a standard PFL body. as its not worth trying to sell my 2001 V6 i am breaking it to steal the FL body parts for the VR4 (and sports interior). we all know that cold air increases performance so i am looking at cutting vents into the bonnet but i am struggling with type and location. i read that the best place to get air in is just behind the manifold and i want to let air out at the back but with a lip. the idea is to get dense cold air in which will drop into the engine to add cooling but will also push the thinner hot air back and up out of a rear vent. apparently the rear turbo is particularly in need of venting.
i would like a cold air feed to the pod but the battery location will not allow that to happen from the wing and there is little room behind the front so i may feed from the bonnet or replace with a standard air box and sports filter which is less hassle than accommodating the mods that a pod needs on this car

ideas?

Personally the oem will have spent a lot of time ensuring air can get into the car so I would more worry about getting it back out. That's just my opinion

And what im hoping to do, yes I've done the headlight vent but it's more because I've never seen one before rather than function. But I am putting a Gtr style vent above the back of the turbo get heat out

the facelift bumper will make a bit of a difference being a wider mouth

but i would like to get rid of as much heat as possible and the manifold area will have a lot of heat with nowhere to go which is a concern for track driving
