Surely this is not right?
Surely this is not right?
Noticed this misalignment whilst cleaning the car today:

This is the driver side, all looks right !
And this on the passenger side, clearly sticking out.
Going to let the leasing company know, as I dont want any blame for it down the line !, but for a brand new car, not sure how they missed this?
You would be amazed how many "new" cars have damage repaired before the customer get his/her hands on it. Let the leasing company know ASAP to cover yourself.
Yep already emailed them, see what they say !
That's probably the bonnet needing a bit of alignment? Does it all line up properly at the other end under the windscreen?
yeah it does, i checked all round to make sure, they company have passed it to they maintenance department who are going to be in touch.
Thanks everyone for the advice, this is the reply from Nissan to the leasing company, who then forwarded it to me:
"We have had the below response from the supplying dealer.
We have had a response regarding the bonnet on this vehicle and apparently it is quite normal.
Dependant on the bonnet catch there is some amount of alignment movement and this should have no effect on the vehicle whatsoever and it consistent with the manufacture of the vehicle
I hope this helps but please let me know if you have any further questions."
Seems like Nissan have managed to fob off the leasing company.
Do i need to be worried?
id send a mail back stating your not happy with that response, it seems bad they know of the problem yet wont rectify it, it is only a few bolts. you could mail nissan directly im sure hq would like to know if there workmanships slipping or their dealers arent keeping customers happy
I wouldn't be worried from the perspective of them saying you've damaged the car when you return it because it looks fine and no one is going to even notice that let alone try and claim for it.
Does it bother you at all?
