Red Bull Stratos Jump October 8th!
Red Bull Stratos Jump October 8th!
This guy is basically going to be lifted up to 120,000 feet in a helium baloon and then jump out, in an attempt to be the first person ever to break the sound barrier in freefall.
Lift/jump off is scheduled for October the 8th...

thats not flying thats falling in style! crazy mofo
was there no a us army guy that did this in the 50's. have seen something about him on discovery channel being the first guy to do this. he also strapped himself to a rocket to find out about g forces. but still not sure if he was ever put in the record books as it was military classified top secret back then. but still what a way to fall........ straight down like a crazy mother .......
Something similar has been done before, but not from anywhere near this high.
But this will be the first time anyone has broken the sound barrier in freefall if all goes to plan.
Jump has been pushed back until tomorrow because of a cold front according to the Facebook page.
He's on the way up at the moment, currently at nearly 84,000 feet.
Live youtube stream is here...
