Sat Nav error message
Sat Nav error message
Hi,
I've posted on another thread, that the car I'll be buying has the DVD based nav system. Down side is, it has been fitted with an after market stereo.I'm aware this causes nav issues.
This is the error message message: 'unable to read data. Check if map DVD is correct'.
I'm hoping someone can confirm, this is the normal error message. I assumed the unit would simply be dead. This looks more like a reader isssue?
Thanks all,
John
Hi, Jomo
I've seen Speedfreek has made a fair few of these, and has been kind enough to post the diagram.
I'm just concerned if the nav issue, has actually been caused by the after maker stereo. I would need someone who has been in the same boat to confirm this.
Thanks,
John
I'm afraid the kit I make doesn't fix this error, which is unrelated to the aftermarket stereo.
It only makes the screen / audio work full stop.
If you see something on your nav screen, then you probably already have one of these kits or something similar installed.
Hi, Speedfreek
Hmmm, that was my concern. I'll see if I can get a cheap disc and try that. If not, I'm guessing its the reader, located in the boot.
Not the best news but never mind.
Thanks for letting me know. At least I'm well informed now
Kind regards,
John
jomo If its the reader in the boot, their going for peanuts on ebay due to pepole just wanting the screen part.
Not a clue if their plug n play between units as i dont have the satnav model.
HTH.
