Hi everyone, went out in the car the other day and the engine management light came on aswell as the trc off light was flashing I then noticed that the temp gauge had dropped to nothing. So the car had overheated. I got home and let it cool down then checked the coolent level and it was low but not empty, so I topped it up and tryed again today, but the same thing happened.

Any thoughts why this is happening? My rad is only a year old so could it be my water pump?

Thanks

Did the temp gauge do anything when you took it out again?

Does pressure build up in the rad?

Must admit it does sound like a pump.

Yeh the second time I went out I was watching all the gauges and the temp rised all the way to the top then the engine management light came on then the temp gauge dropped and the trc off light started to flash. If that makes any sense

Did you see my comments on the other side about filling the rad up?

Have a look at the wiring going into the temp sensor on the bottom left hand side of the rad, have seen quite a few break off

Still no joy, but now the engine management light stays on and the trc off light still flashes.

If the lights on then get the code read, that will point you in the right direction.

Well she's fixed. The problem was a loose nut at the bottom of the rad, tightened back up and all fine.

This is where the leak was
