I'm just going to aim this question at Stav, as no doubt he'll answer first / know the answer.

Stav, does the standard IS200 rev limiter cut fuel or ignition?

Ive been reading lately how some/most manufacturers cut fuel as the rev limiter, causing the engine to run lean.

I'm thinking, being 'charged, it might be an idea for safety reasons, to install a seperate rev limiter, set slightly lower than the standard limiter, to cut ignition instead.

Anyone else can reply if they know...

To be honest I don't know but prob fuel like you say, I hit the limiter in 6th in Germany and did no harm, however I'd suggest

A) it'll be fine,
B) try changing gear before you get to the limit?

My traction control system works by cutting fuel and that's used on lots of big power cars so I think it'll be fine for the short time your on a limiter.

I always try and change gear before the limiter, but I sometimes find 1st and 2nd gears quite short,

Im more concerned about it running lean at higher revs when I fit the bigger pulley, plus possible fuel cut on the limiter won't help things

I'll see how things go, the worst thing than can happen is that the 1GFE engine will get replaced quicker
