It failed on my hid lights, so I popped home and whipped them out and put the standard ones back in and had it retested and it passed. Well happy.

Funny advisories tho, here's some for ya

1) blacked out front sun visor fitted ( not affecting drivers view )

2) under-tray fitted obscuring some underside components

3) modified bonnet spacers fitted

4) exhaust loud

Are they taking the **** lol, oh well at least she passed with no hassle.

Thats random, are some MOT testers taking the P#*s

Surely if u have headlight washers ur hids should pass and the under tray is fitted as standard to most cars

Just a waste of paper

Init mate, well I wasn't because of the headlight washers but the actual light pattern which made it fail? Lol

Valid reason for an MOT failure, getting so fcuking p155esd off with poorly adjust HID beam patterns with light scatter everywhere, not the right bulb in the wrong lamp housing, simples

Yes Pat I agree with the petty advisories etc, but put yourself in the MOT testers shoes, all he is doing is reporting items to cover his butt, its then in black and white if any issues arise after the date of test,

eg,, under-tray fitted obscuring some underside components, reported just in case a component fails, he can quite rightly say "not checked at time of test"

exhaust loud, what happens if he gets stopped tomorrow at a roadside check, becoming more frequent now, the owner will instantly reply, "It passed its MOT yesterday"

modified bonnet spacers fitted, if he mowed down a pedestrian and caused serious damage by the raised bonnet????

Yes I agree petty, but covering his **** BECAUSE and items if stopped by the police, owner will use, "Just had it MOTed"

I've known a few cars to fail an MOT because of them having air freshners hanging from the rear view mirror.
