Having now got a proper spoiler for the Lex at JAE, I need to prep it and paint it.

What tips can people give me i.e. which grade of sand paper to finish off the filler, between coats, paint type etc. I want to give it a go myself...........

Taking the lip spoiler off and putting the high one on that Mr Mole has.

hi mate, im a qualified paint tech. You would be better of letting a bodyshop take car of this. But im always up for letting people give it a go.

Is the spoiler in primer or bare?

are u planning on using HVLP guns or aerosol?

What clearcoat are you using? 1pack (straight out the can) or 2pack(add a hardener)

Il be happy to guide you through it Smile

good luck

As you are only down the road from me........ Do you do "private" jobs Sam - I still have your Air Con Pump.....

What is a HVLP? I know nothing!! The boot lid will also need painting, I think this is going to be a bigger job than I thought:Sulk:

Hello Phil, Big Grin

Yeh i've sprayed quite a few bits in the past and do still do a bit, but Sam knows so much more than me about spraying, so you'll be better off with his advice for this sort of job as i'm more of a powder coater:wink:

HVLP(High Volume Low Pressure)

Off Topic:
Was good to see over the weekend mate and glad you enjoyed the spin in my motor :thumbup1:

yeah i dont mind doing it for you chap, dont let me put you off giving it a go because id be happy to come give you step by steps. But if your going to aerosol it you will no where near have enough air pressure. (Around 2.0bar) but this can be solved by loads of flat polishing!! let me know chap Smile

We will have to meet up at some point, I can give you the spoiler - the down side is the bolt holes are in the wrong place and the beet lid will need to be filled and painted once the lip spoiler is removed............ This is a big job!!
