hi there, iv recently bought a strut brace ( thx Robin Extremebhp MilnerSmile) it fits to the car(after some mods tho) the problem iv got is that when I came to close my bonnet it was being stopped by the strut brace hitting off the support beams in the bonnet. is there any way of sorting this out by either raising the bonnet ( if so then how would I do it) or is there any other non expensive way to sort out this problem?

thanks.Smile

Well first it shouldn't hit, so I'd check the fitting has no simple error.

The option is bonnet spacers, fairly popular in 'the scene' basically big washers to raise the top of the bonnet for the 'because racecar' look

Ah yes, there isn't many braces that fit with the charger inlet I'm afraid, provided the bonnet is clipped down properly it should be ok, though if your determined to keep it bonnet spacers are the way to go

What you do is cut a small section out from under the strut bar to let it sit on top of the inlet.

Like what I did. Simple:p

Lexus IS200 Mods--TTE Supercharger, Tein Superstreet Coilovers & EDFC, 6000K HID Lights, HKS Silent High Power Exhaust, DBA Front Discs, Kenwood DNX9240 Head Unit, 19" Rims, TRD Kit, FIGS Bonnet Struts, Greddy Pillar Pod & Defi Gauges, TTE Red ARBS . And Been To WIM twice

Basically cut away some of the strut bace where it hits the throttle pipe so that you don't need the spacers.

It will affect its integrity though.
