Fitting a wideband
Fitting a wideband
I've managed to get my hands on a few wideband sensors. I presume its wideband anyway there are no part numbers or anything. The only thing is it says pi research on the bag which I believe is cosworth and it's a 5 wire so I guess it's a wideband.
I want to fit it in preparation for the turbo and I'm a bit confused as to how it works. I know widebands need a little control box but are these boxes universal or will I need a specific one for this sensor?
Can I run it on a standard ecu? So that I dont have to fit it at the tuners and it would be nice to see what it's on as the car is a bit iffy right now.
Why is a wideband 5 wire anyway?
It's a 2000 altezza rs200
Hmm, could be difficult. Def needs the box to turn the signal into a 0-5v output the Ecu can read.
I know with the sensors for aem/stack gauges they have resister packs as part of the sensor wiring can't remember why but I think if you find the aem uego gauge manual it says in that
Some like this to get the signal

Most ecu's have an input that reads a 0-5v signal.
