Info about 100octane fuel needed
Hey guys (and Gals of course),
As some of you know i have let slip that i will be selling my IS on in the next few months and instead will be putting my hands on a Subaru Legacy B4 RSK, a car that i hope will fit in nicely with some of the rare and beautiful beasts in our awesome club.
So due to this new development i've been doing a bit of research on the matter and i've found out a few things:
1)This specific model was never officially available in Ireland and that every one in Ireland is an import from Japan, making them all truly JDM i guess.
2)They were mapped to run on 100octane fuel, I presume thats the Japanese standard fuel.
3)The ones Imported this side of the globe, need to be re-mapped to run on our lower octane fuels to protect the engines.
My question is more for #2, Is it possible to get my hands on some 100Oct fuel by ordering on line or not, cos i've been told using boosters with regular pump fuel is not actually the same, something about the octane being close but the booster somehow lessens the energy producing efficiency of the fuel, is that last part true?
Now i'm not to worried about running the Scooby on regular pump fuel as i've been told that the remap has been done, but I'd still like to experience her at her full potential.
Any help or advice would be appreciated...
I'm sure you could buy 100 octane, you can buy even high race fuel but it's expensive.
Some octane boosters are better than others from what I've been told
Its generally race fuel so demon tweaks etc will suppy it but it is expensive
