NHB Honda Type R
NHB Honda Type R
Lets just start by saying I've been a very silent member for many years but never drove until 2 yrs ago when I finally got around to learning and passing my test first time. I then drove my partners very basic Toyota Aygo for those 2 yrs until March this year when I purchased my dream car (Saying that I have loads of dream cars! But this was my price range and my uncle was selling it.)
Meet my Honda Civic Type R 2.0 Nighthawk Black '05 plate. Brought at 88K on the clock and 2 previous owners. Bog standard from what I gather.
I'll start with what I first posted on a Type R forum.. And then jump to the present month.
Few photos snapped on my phone the day after picking it up..
My first little thing I put on my car this evening because I'm a massive Fast and Furious fan and obviously a huge fan of Paul Walker so this is my tribute I've been wanting to put on my own car since that tragic accident. (Yes I screwed the 'E' up!!!)
I need to find some good products now for polishing and washing my car!
----------------
I started with very basic mods to make it my own and add a little colour scheme to it to.
Wind deflectors
Purple honda badges front and back, wheels, steering wheel and R's
Honda Type R door sills
Purple rim blades
Custom made purple logo seat belt covers
Carbon wrapped bonnet (That was to hide a really nasty mark left by the previous owner which I didn't find until it had a wash!)
Purple Kode tow hook
Purple sun strip
Few purple stickers
Then it was ready for Japshow with a Civic club.
After that I had to do something new for Japfest 2 which I then attended again with the same club.
Preparing my brake callipers for painting
This was it half way through.. Looking a little all over the place
Then before I think the second coat before my other half helped touch it up
Wheel back on
On to the front one which wasn't even painted properly..
I found my groove by the time I got on to a bigger calliper. I found it looked a lot better compared to my first attempt.
They look really good now the paint has settled and I've driven around more now. Got a bit of dirt on them now!
Looks really good like the colour choice against the black makes it even brighter.
What's ur future plans then and keep the pics coming

Me at Japfest 2.
I brought a lot of purple goodies for the engine bay at this show. KODE washers, KODE battery tie, pink socks because they don't do purple and Mugen oil cap.
Then my next mod was to add a little noise to the car so someone recommend getting an induction kit. I brought a second hand AEM induction kit - Turned out it was in horrible condition so a lovely friend painted it purple for me and fitted it. (These are bad photos while it was getting fitted)
The air filter is dinged badly so thinking of getting a new one at some point. One that looks a little tidier.
For now I have to take a break with mods over the winter because the things I want to do I want to have brand new for show season from March. These include..
A mugen (rep) front splitter to replace the OEM under the bumper
Respray the bumper because it's untidy
New wheels
Other future plans I'd like to do are double din stereo which hopefully I may get done next month.
Looking to lower it a little but finding lowering springs are to low and coilovers are **** expensive!
Any way think that's about it for now. I've got Mugen (rep) pedals sitting next to me waiting to go in and plenty of cleaning gear to give him one last real good tidy up before it gets to cold and I only give him a wash when it's really needed!
Lexuspat Looks really good like the colour choice against the black makes it even brighter.

I like the dye idea on the seats, be good to see how it turns out!
Another member jspec Ness is adding purple to her Honda Civic as well.
Hi and welcome to OJC.
Good start... Adding a little but of colour to these makes all the difference... Looking forward to seeing it in the metal at the next show.
Thanks for the comments. Will look in to the club sponsor and see what I'm looking at for coilovers. I know every one says you get what you pay for but I am wondering do I need to spend well over £500 or whatever they are for respected ones just for a daily car to get a little bit lower? (Don't want to start a riot now!)
My mind is constantly buzzing with mods right now. I think I'm planning to get a Cobra cat back exhaust system with oval tailpipe next month. I want people to know I'm coming down the road but with a subtle sound.. (I'm very indecisive when it comes to new purchases - Especially when it involves a huge amount of money!)
I'm waiting on a bonus from work in which I'll redeem some vouchers for Amazon or Halfords to buy a double din touch screen! Look forward to that mod (Just need to find someone with the know how to fit it yet. Going to ask Audio File in town how much they charge)
I'm debating changing the colour of my centre console and door handles now. I'd like to keep it silver with a hint of purple but I'm also leaning towards a carbon purple look. Decisions.
When I finally get something done they'll be an update right away.
And definitely need a meet up Rab! Meet some OJC members
