Right little build thread but don't expect big mods.

Been looking for a second car for a while for the wife.

Not wanting to spend silly money as it will be her first car, it's life will be pretty simple to and from her work not far the occasional shopping trip but mainly spending it's life at the horses at a yard.

So was looking for a larger car and 4x4 if I could looked at the Honda crv but heard many a bad story about engine issues and Sensor problems having owned a Honda in the past I know cost can be silly if things go wrong.

So settled on buying a freelander, luckily enough a guy who I know was looking at selling one he had along with multiple other vehicles so I had the bonus of getting it at a good price.

Now she's not in great condition but nothing a few simple things won't fix up.

She needs a new passenger door as rust has eaten away at the bottom corner but there's one in a scrap yard not far from me.

Gave it a good wash and clean and it came out looking alot better

As u can see the plastic bumpers are looking tired so a good little trick with plastics on cars is get a bottle of linseed oil and just apply with a cloth now all looking fresh and like new.

Now I know it needs a water pump so if I'm doing that I may as well change the cambelt as well

[Image: Screenshot_2016-03-05-22-08-43-1_zpsuq1mxwce.png]

And alot though I'd order a service kit as well

[Image: Screenshot_2016-03-05-22-10-06-1_zpskcepbk5a.png]

I did some window tint work a few weeks back and have some left so also gonna tint the rear windows just to make it look a little more fresh

And also upgrade the lights with a set of hids and the guards for all the lights aswell

[Image: Screenshot_2016-03-05-22-10-23-1_zpskobu5wpo.png]

[Image: Screenshot_2016-03-05-22-11-04-1_zpsksfqvmkl.png]

Also gonna look at either individual fogs on the front or the light bar style one.

Other then that she runs well and the wife loves it as her first car.

As far as I know, it came into my parents garage for some work, but the owner didn't want to pay for it in the end, so gave em the car as payment. They would probably prefer to get rid of it as one, rather then go through the trouble of breaking it and storing it. I can ask the question though.

Well little update on the lanny whilst off work I decided to cracking on and change the water pump and cambelt what a mission that is on these engines but got it done and replaced the Coolant with new so all is running sweet.

Had a load of tint left over from another job so thought why not so tinted the windows and they came out pretty well.

Still need to replace the door and looking for a tow bar and the light guards as well.

Next on the list of to replace the reverse light switch as that's faulty.

Also want to fit a set of HIDs just to clean up its appearance.

Well further progress has been made I replaced the reverse light switch which was faulty nice easy part the bolts into the gear box, all working now so that's another job ticked off.

Also managed to get a door and fitted that after moving all the components from the old door onto it.

The last job was tyres needed to replace the 2 front tyres so priced it up and was ready to buy, but at the same time noticed a missing centre cap so asked on a freelander page and a guy offered me a full set of wheels same as the ones we have but 2 had brand new tyres on.

Little trip out to Sheffield and a full set of alloys plus tyres for less then the cost to replace 2

So happy days
