YOKOHAMA, Japan. (May 17, 2016) – Nissan today announced senior management appointments to further strengthen the company’s Marketing and Sales operations in Japan, China and Mexico.“Today’s announcements demonstrate the strength and diversity of Nissan’s global leadership as we transfer key leaders across regions. Mayra Gonzalez, who will assume presidency for Nissan Mexicana, will be the first female president appointed as country head for Nissan,” said Trevor Mann, chief performance officer, head of all regions, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.Susumu Uchikoshi, currently Vice President of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. and Managing Director of Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company, will return to Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. global headquarters to assume a newly created role of regional senior vice president for Japan Marketing and Sales. Uchikoshi will report directly to Asako Hoshino, head of Operations Committee Japan. Uchikoshi brings a wealth of global sales experience from Egypt, South Africa and China to reinvigorate the sales for Japan.Replacing Uchikoshi in China will be Airton Cousseau, currently President of Nissan Mexicana. Cousseau will be appointed to Vice President of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. as well as Managing Director of Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle (subject to the board of director’s approval.) Cousseau's strong background in import and export marketing, finance, dealer network development, sales and after-sales helped maintain 83 consecutive months of leading market share in Mexico. The same expertise is expected to develop and grow the dealer network in China. Cousseau will report directly to Jun Seki, President of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd.Mayra Gonzalez, currently regional vice president, Sales and Marketing, Nissan Mexicana, will be appointed as president, Nissan Mexicana. Gonzalez will become the first female executive ever to assume Presidency of regional operations within the Nissan Group. Her experience spans from Customer Quality, Sales, and Dealer Network Development in North and South America.All changes are effective Jul. 1, 2016. About Nissan Motor Co.
