well today i went and got my head unit from the sorting office.its a pioneer avh-p4100 dvd. also got my drilled and groved discs the other day so put them all on.and installed my head unit. only problem was the bypass lead. it did not have fead for acc and illumination. so found the switched feed and per live out with the soildering iron and hay presto it works.slight problem prob my fault not doing somthing rite. the facia cover to smooth off the area around the head unit does not fit.going to remove it again the night once wee man in bed try again.apart from that all good ace.:w00t: oh and is there a way to fool the unit into thinking the hand brake is on while driving. i know prob not a good idea but keeps the g/f happy while am driveing.

Is it one with a flip-out screen ? If so, the fascia thingy typically catches at the bottom.

Your unit is simply expecting an earthed connection to that handbrake feed, which is what the handbrake being on provides. So just wire it to an earth and it'll think the handbrake is on all the time. There are some handy bolts just under the gear lever surround that you can use for that purpose.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

Is it the bottom that it's catching ? If you you might be able to cut off the bottom section (or at least cut it down) and still use the surround. Although the trouble is that if you do cut it off, it can make the rest of it not fit quite so well (due to there being nothing to hold the sides together at the bottom).
