Aaargh fuses !
I have been having a lot of problems with one of my LED eyebrows on my car. It's been fine on one side, but the fuse kept blowing after a short time on the other side.
I replaced the LED strip with a new one, in case either that or my wiring was the problem. It still blew the fuse after a while (after a few journeys).
Following Rabster's suggestion, I removed the LED sidelights just in case somehow the current they were drawing was tipping things over the edge (the fuse is 160mA), but this hasn't helped either.
I've ordered some 200mA fuses to see if that will help, but obviously I can't just keep upping the value of the fuse, since that would defeat the object of having a fuse in the first place.
I really can't see anything wrong with the way it's connected in terms of how it could be shorting somehow. I presume it must either be shorting or just drawing too much current at some points for the fuse.
Maybe I should try and measure the current drain with a multimeter ? Could be a good excuse to buy a new multimeter
At the moment I'm baffled, particularly since it's working fine on the other side !
Can't really help with it, but that does sound very odd - could you wire both strips to the same side or would that be too high a load?

Steve......mmmmmm, now something like this kept happening to me when I had LED 501 bulbs in my sidelights, which I believe your strip LEDS are wired to? Anyway, one side, and I think it was the drivers side, kept blowing the bulb/LED, I must have replaced it 4 or 5 times......gave up in the end and went back to normal 501's and it's been fine ever since.
Keith
Was that just the regular fuse going though Keith ? I've wired in an inline fuse (currently 160mA), and it's that that keeps blowing.
However, there's a thought. When I replaced the strip and re-wired it, I still used the same fuse holder. I wonder if I should perhaps take a closer look at that to see if there's something wrong with it, and perhaps swap it with another one just in case ?
Was just looking on the superlumination site to see if i could find the draw rates for the led strips, and on there for a 30cm set they say they only draw 0.09amps @ 12v?

Sorry Keith, I didn't read your previous reply properly
Was it definitely the driver's side your went on ? Because it's the passenger side where I'm having problems. Although when I just had LEDs in the sidelights they were fine.
Are all the connections on that sidelight ok? As in the proper wiring, not the wiring that you've added?
