Was just wondering...my car is always garaged overnight...but now that the temperature has dropped, I always let it idle for 5 minutes until the revs fall to the 900-1100 range and the temperature gauge goes up to the first marking before driving off....do you guys warm up yours or you just fire up and fire away???

Gord I warm mine up before setting off, more so in the cold weather

I try to let the turbo cool down when stopping/turning off, but that depends on how i was driving just before this

This, or at the very least restricted low rpm driving till it does warm up

I usually don't have time to warm the car up in the morning (I use it for work  ) but I always take it easy and try to drive on minimal boost until the car is up to temperature. I also take it easy when I am almost at my destination to allow the car to turbo cool down and let the car idle for a few moments before turning it off.

I never let mine warm up before driving off, except when I'm trying to defrost the windscreen ! Isn't warming the car up when stationary supposed to be bad for it, or is that just an old wives' tale ?

I do drive more gently until it's warmed up though. When I get my turbo on I'll also be letting it idle before I switch off too, something that I don't bother with at the moment.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !
