Key Fob washed
Key Fob washed
Today while the missus was doing the washing she shouted me and said there was something clanking in the machine, after the machine stopped i opened the door and found that my keyfob was the culprit for making the noise, so i stripped it down, dried it the best i can and put it in the airing cupboard.
What the chance it will work as i can not find my spare key and dont look forward to a 3 mile walk to the train station i the morning, then there is the hassle of getting another key before Xmas.
Have any other members done the same and did it work?
their pretty well sealed IIRC.
have you actually tried it?
spilt coke on my dad's keys, lexus key still worked but sticky, light was flashing, but not sure if the land rover key worked, lol. shows the difference in quality really.
Most electronic items are usually fine with water anyway, as long as they are not operated when wet.
A tip in case it ever happens again is not to force the drying (which I don't think you have), just open everything up and leave it somewhere to dry naturally.
Glad it's working fine though, and good tip to get a spare just in case.
