Induction kit
Induction kit
Really basic question but nevertheless...
If i purchase a top of the range induction kit ... the really best on the market whichever one that is and fit it properly eg with a cold air feed etc...what will this do to the lex? we are talking about a bog standard is200 se auto here...will it improve fuel consumtion or lower it? would it change engine or exchaust sound? would it give more power? how well would it go with a decent catbak exchaust system? sorry...just really considering it
Maybe 1-2bhp,
a throatier noise from the car, and probably a little more fuel consumption.
It will give you a better engine noise, would think it would help the fuel consumption but only slightly and the same with power, go for an Apexi filter these are the best , but you would be better making your own one like Ormi and Bandit did, this way it will keep the induction pipe away from the hot part of the engine bay.Do not waste your money on a prol** one or any other
i was thinking http://www.jdmperformance.co.uk/item_det...odID=52217 ?
Also, i know im hi-jacking my own thread but whats a fog to brake conversion (or the other way round) and how is it done?

The main things for your induction kit are :
1 - a decent air filter
2 - piping that is routed away from the hot parts of the engine (i.e. to keep the air cool)
For number 1, don't get the HKS filter, get the APexi one as Moley mentioned, i.e. this one (you can also get it in a shiny chrome version if you pay a bit more).
For number 2, look at some pics and you can make your own with some tubing and silicone piping. Or if Bandit can dig out his diagrams you can follow that.
Fog-to-brake is making your fog lights work as brake lights (i.e. come on when you brake).

thanks guys...stevie, how is this done? is there an adaptor or is this a "homebrew" mod? also does the normal cluster still work when you brake ? or jsut the fogs?
