My IS.
My IS.
Ok not nearly as special as some of the other cars on here but I love it all the same and it's getting there slowly:biggrin: when I 1st started looking for an IS I never wanted a project but:
Ok bought in Feb 2007 from Oldham and the 1st thing noticable was it's been in a bump, the bonnet, o/s wing, front bumper and bootlid where a different shade from the rest of the car, also the front bumper was(is) off a Sportcross and it had(has) smoked rear lights from later models even though it's a 99 plate, the most noticable thing was the front end though the grille on the drivers side was about 2" further back than the other side, now your probably wondering why I bought it well it's because it had only done 74k and mechanically was mint but due to the damage it was also cheap.
1st job done on the car was repair the front end and bring it back into alignment which was done after about 3 weeks before that on the day I got it I did have to re-programme the key but got help on that from Stav over on LOC when it was a nice place to be, thanks again for that mate:biggrin:
Since then i've had the whole front end re-sprayed, the bootlid and rear bumper re-sprayed so the cars is all the same colour, i've had the wheels re-furbed changed numerous bulbs inside and had a new a/c control unit because I broke one messing about with it:blushing:
I've also fitted a new carpet because the one in it was destroyed.
Since then i've fitted 6000K HID's, LED 501 sides, Xenon main and fogs, led number plate bulbs and chrome rear indicators.
More noticable mods are the raised boot spoiler with LED brake light, sport grille with re-located horns, painted plastic covers in the engine bay and the pipercross induction kit that Chris(Bandit) gave me thanks again mate, I have since extended the kit with a piece of chrome pipe again off Chris Cheers mate this was basically to take the filter away from the manifold and into the cooler air, next I need to get a direct cold air feed but that's on the wanted list, ivealso painted the calipers blue with silver decals.
I also had to fit a new head unit with an amp by-pass lead because of ERR3 so it now has a Sony head unit.
I currently have some genuine TRD side skirts sat in the cupboard all painted and ready to fit but due to the weather can't get them on yet and i'm waiting on a set of 40mm lowering springs which still have not arrived again due to the weather, I have an original saloon front bumper off Stav thanks again matey which is waiting to be re-sprayed and fitted.
The wanted list is much longer than the done list and inc. coilcovers eventually, 18's eventually and maybe one day a Supercharger but that's a very long way off at the moad:
Like I said not really a proper project when compared with the engine swaps, and S/C's and stuff but i'm really proud of my IS I bought it in a state but with alot of TLC I think it's looking pretty tidy.
That's all I can think of for now but i'm sure there's more:confused1:
Updates will follow just how many will depend on finances tho:laugh:
Soz for boring you and thanks for looking:biggrin:
