Posted this before but thought i'd move it to its own how to topic? as i know a few guys are doing/have done gauge pods :thumbup1:

Easy way of changing the angle of gauges....

Parts you'll need..

Black Spray can lid..
Sharp scissors or a sharp knife..
Super glue...?

Using a Spray can lid behind one side of the gauge so that the gauge/gauges sit at an angle to face you Smile

Cut the plastic lid so that its in a C shape, so its 5mm at it's highest point in the centre of the C shape, then taper it off to say 1-2mm at each end, (so its like a wedge shape.) it'll hold the gauge at that angle?

You can glue the plastic wedge to the gauge itself if you wanted, so it stays in place or even glue it to the pod and then spray the whole item so it looks like one part?

You can adjust the angle pretty easy by making the higher bit of the plastic a bit higher or lower than 5mm, depending on where you want it to face?

You might have to play with the brackets on the rear so they tighten up properly, but quite easy to sort out :thumbup1:

Quick demo i made out of a spray can lid to show you how it works, and pics always explain it better Big Grin

Took me a couple of minutes to make and really easy to do, the spray can lid works very well because you can cut it to fit round most size gauges, if you have bigger than 60mm gauges i'm sure there will be a lid out there somewhere that would do the job? plus if you use a black one it'll blend in with the plastic on the gauge pod and with most gauges

Good tip. Won't you have to open up any existing gauge pod hole bigger though, i.e. it'll become more oval due to having the gauge at an angle ?

I had been thinking of tilting my whole gauge pod towards me, but I don't like how that looks now, after a mock-up, so I'm thinking of trying to tilt the individual gauges if I have enough room inside the pod (more room required the more they go sideways).

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

i bought mine half made then did the finishing,

its done by cutting out the vents, making a metal plate behind to hold the gauges. then lots of filler and sanding
