My loveable (I loved it) Digital Camera has gone caput !

It was a Kodak V1233, 12mp, HD video

I loved it and was perfect, but its gone now, and need a new one for the holiday in October, yes it way off, but need to start saving.

What you guys got? Something under 170? MP wise not too bothered, but has to have HD video.

I love SLR cameras but way too expensive.

Any recommendations, which ones have you got?

P.S could a mod change my threat title, i wasnt swearing, but the filter has kicked in for some reason.

Look for a Panasonic TZ7 - awesome camera. It has just been replaced by the TZ10 so should be available below £199 now.

 couldn't think of what to do with the title so just picked a couple of daft words

for the money i'd say the Fuji S1800 would be a very good bit of kit?

I've got 3 fuji camera's now and always been very impressed with them :thumbup1:

No mate not got that one, I have the S9600, S3000 and the A410 models but soon going to get the s100fd as well, try and find one with the highest optical zoom, most have a high digital zoom which isn't as good a quality as optical? The sony cameras have always been pretty good, :thumbup1:

yh optical, is as i say it, actual zooming, where as digital, is like us using windows to zoom into a jpeg image?? thats my understanding,

after watching gadget show i like a few, but wayyy over my budget,

that sony seems decent, 14 mp, HD video, sweep paranoma, chargeable battery, and a decent make, for 150, only 4 optical zoom, if I had more would use it more often.

http://shop.kodak.co.uk/store/ekconseu/e....147405900

now this one seems interestin 10x optical zoom ! with all the other features but no mention about sweep paranoma, just stich which many old ones do

I'd say go for the panasonic TZ series of cameras. I've got a TZ3, fair enough its a just over a year old now the model but I got it when it first came out. Its my second panasonic camera and they're amazing! The lense is really good and so is the zoom.

Another vote for Panasonic, my brother has a TZ10 and it's a fantastic camera, takes amazing photos and the HD video is brilliant too. The extra wide angle lens is also really useful, you don't realise how useful until you actually use it.
