Is it better to stick to OEM oil on an IS200 or is there anything better that the masses use....should i also get new fill/drain plugs & washers?

On an IS200 you mean ?

Don't think there's an OEM oil as such, just use what the spec requires, which is gear oil API GL-5 SAE90 for temps of down to minus 18 degrees C. Fully synthetic is what is normally used for that.

Edit - something like this.

Different garages probably use different brands anyway, I wouldn't worry about that.
