Lightning has bad effects :(
My dad's place got hit a min ago, through the area, the houses and his house lights flickered, and his freeview hd box blew up, quote from him "it was the brightest and hottest spark I have ever seen, it feels like you were taken to a different world" he said that is the worst thing he has ever seen like this.
But, the freeview box will not turn on, and is dead, only had it for 2 weeks aswell...
But luckily he has not been hurt, or nothing too major is dead.

Next time get a surge protector and save your electrical equipment, mine has save all our kit once already:p

26-04-2017, 11:46 AM #9all depends on the route the electric came from like oli said if it came through the aerial then the tv and hd box and dvd player amps ect directly connected would all get fried the surge protection should stop it then travelling through the rest of the house if your lucky
