Morning all. I have a quick question. Does anybody know how long the rust/perforation warrenty is on a 2003 (aluminium bodied) Jaguar XJ6? The reason why I'm asking is a friends Jag has a little rust coming through on the bottom corner of the drivers door and Jaguar have just come back and said it's outside the warrenty. My accent isn't posh enough to ask the question on the Jaguar forums and there is a small likelyhood that no one would know on there anyway. Enjoy the weather.

From a quick google I think it's 6 years - so probably just outside warranty. With it being that close I'd be right on the phone to head office to see what they can do. They should surely come up with some sort of partial contribution towards repairs.

I also believe that they have a 6 year anti corrosion warranty.

Thanks for the info guys. Spot on yet again. I thought six years was a bit stingey, especially as it's the aluminium one. I shall pass the info on, and remind him he should have bought a Lexus in the first place. I'm so mean.

How can you not like Jags? The X type was a bit of a dud, but the XJ has always been awesome, and the XF and XK are stunning!

Xk/XKR were always nice and its good too see the XF and XFR as a stop gap but for a long time the 'mondeo' jag kinda spoiled their rep for me. It wasn't even the best mondeo.

You could say astons of that period were just posh words...... the db7 was full of gord switchgear etc. I would have an X-type as it is a good well built car.
