I cant see why there would be a difference for a 2000 turbo over a WRX? I have not heard anything bad about them as long as usual you get service history etc and if any modifications to the engine have been done a re-map has been completed!!

The wrx is a group 20 insurance and the uk t2000 is group 17, the main difference is the wrx runs a min on 220bhp, and the uk 2000 do 208 as standard.
I have had both, personally i would have another t2000 over a wrx, it would have to be a later one though. They run a smaller turbo, which is better, the TD05 can be laggy, full boost at 4k in the later gears, higher in 1st and 2nd, great when its there, but takes its time! the uk cars have the td04h as standard, full boost by 3k, mine was running 1.4bar and hit that just over 3k.
The uk cars have a slightly longer box too, which with lower power is a drag, but when you run good power, its great.
The real bonus of the later uk cars is the fact that the standard ECU can be re mapped, so all you need to do is change the injectors, front mount intercooler, fuel pump and get the ecu mapped, with a good turbo 300bhp.
Mine made 310 with 290lb.
The limits are lower though, you cant run as much power, the boxes arent as strong, and the engines are a fair bit weaker too. 350 is about as high as i would go.
Thats pretty much about it. Oh, earlier cars, you dont get cool seats or a re mappable ecu!! you can get a nice ver5 or 6 for good money now.

Ive got a uk turbo 2000 with a version 6 sti engine fitted, probably the best way to go about it as uk and wrx have alot of crank issues, the sti's are quite abit stronger
