Hi guys, I am looking for a TTE supercharger kit. Except bearings, what else can be a problem with the charger itself? What should I check before I buy one? I have seen one making some noise at idle, is it possible that the charger can be damaged inside somehow? Do the internals last for long or is the charger limited by mileage somehow?
Thanks for any help !!!

The chargers are generally reliable, but are all now old units so expect some wear and tear. I think they are serviceable though. They are also very rare and people want a lot of money for them.

Hi mate, as 2tongues mentioned eaton superchargers are reliable and lifetime units. In some occations thought some have problems with the bearings due to the aging of the superchargers. In general you won't hear problems with the TTE SCs.

You might be aware of this already, but the TTE "black box" that comes with a lot of these kits is rather unrealiable. This is the small piece of electronics that lies to the stock ECU to stop it seeing too much fuel being put in. A lot of people replace these with the more reliable HKS FCD, though that isn't quite as "good" as the TTE black box in the way it works.

From accounts of those with chargers, there seem to be good ones and bad ones, ones which give more power than others. No idea why (e.g. if a service might help a "bad" one ?).

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !
