Exactly, I like the new idea of 2 for 1 soft drinks to encourage people to not even "just have 1"

Gord About time they stopped ripping people off for soft drinks in the pub, its cost more for a pint of soft drink than beer :crying:
exactly the problem. And the attitude of drivers that it won't happen to them.

isnt it easier just to ban alcohol totally? like drugs, why ban drugs when clearly (even in a recent study) alcohol does more damage then drugs, how can the government put a stance on aspect but not the other

ban it all or allow it all and I favor the ban

People would save so much money instead of drinking alcohol

The pressure on the Police and NHS would decrease from alcohol related crime and incidents

Marriages and relationships will last longer (not that im saying all of them who drink end up in a bad marriage)

Child abuse would decrease

And the country would be much more healthier..........

Makes sense to me

It's already been proved that prohibition doesn't work. Try to ban anything and demand (and price) goes up.
Drinking responsibly isn't exactly hard to do, especially regarding driving where the limit should be lowered to make it simple i.e. if you have even one alcoholic drink, you don't drive.

because what your forgetting is you havent lived in a UK where every drug is legal

Alcohol like drugs can be addictive,

but drugs are way more addictive, and affect you in ways you cannot predict, high's lows, bad trips

with alcohol you know where you stand, you drink it, you get drunk, you sleep, hangover

its the same verytime unless your a right retard and give yourself alcohol poisining, which lets be honest, if you go out your way to drink that much your deserving of a darwin award really

you have the option of replacing alcohol with soft drinks or even alcohol free beer

you cant replace drugs with a substitute.....not that i know of

Im not having a dig at you but the concept of "ban alcohol" is possible the most ludicrous thing ive heard in a while

next it'll be ban cars, then ban planes, .....................................

However i completely agree on lowering the drink drive limit, although it would have to be still high enough that the innocent dont get penalised but the machine going off at merely the smell of booze because they happened to be sat in a pub

whilst i like to nurse a pint of ale over an hour or so and then im completely fine ti drive home,

i could live without it
