Guys,

When I briefly had an IS200 without a rear spoiler, the bootlid would always open unassisted when I pressed the button on the remote. However after moving to my IS300, the boot simply 'unlocks' now when I press the button. I assumed that this was because of the extra weight of the spoiler?

Is this the case, and is there anything in the mechanics of the boot that can be adjusted to make it spring open?

Ah yeah, come to think about it I did see that thread. Will check back in to see if there's been any movement since then.

i dont think theres anything u can do to the mechanics in the boot

some boots open fully where some just pop its like a lottery but as said

demon is sorting out a group buy

It's to do with the springs that open the boot weakening over time I think...

i think most are watching think hes trying to finish the group buy for the gear knobs off before starting another group buy

Mine still pops up about 8 - 10 inches and its a 2000 sport model with the spoiler fitted? Big Grin

Bah. I've not really looked at the mechanism, but maybe I just need some new springs or something :bored:

if you look in the boot u will see them running right to left at the top
