Nowadays finding a good R32 GT-R is becoming increasingly harder as time takes it's toll and so few owners give these cars the care they deserve. Destined to become one of Japan's most prized classic cars the good examples are strengthening in price as collectors begin to realise pristine examples are becoming a rare breed.
Having been garaged much of it's life and being completely corrosion free & unmarked, we've selected this example for our stock as one of the very best affordable near original specification R32 GT-R's we've seen in a long time.
Honestly - if we had the space to store this car away it wouldn't be for sale - We'd garage it in a bubble as an investment. It's been a long time since we'd found an example as stunning & original as this.
Improvements: This car's power remains mostly standard aside from a few mild modifications mostly by Nismo. These include: Nismo adjustable gas shocks with uprated springs (Primarily for road use), Nismo front strut brace, Nismo Weldina NE-1 exhaust (Cat back), Nismo panel filter.
Brakes have been upgraded with rebuilt R33 GT-R calipers at each corner, replacement discs & uprated pads. To reduce brake pedal travel to a minimum an R34 GT-R master cylinder (Larger bore) has replaced the original. Wheels are refurbished BCNR33 items with near new Yokohama Advan dB sports tyres.
Main beam has been uprated to HID and the headlights have been uprated to black surrounds (inside) with LED marker lights built in. As some people might prefer original sidelights - If preferred we can return this modification to standard spec at no additional cost).
Inside there's a complete set of BNR34 pedal covers and brand new Nismo floor mats. The 180W Kenwood hifi is uprated (Face is security removable) and there's a solar assisted radar detector fitted at the centre console.
Standard equipment includes: ABS, Hicas 4 wheel steering, Atessa 4WD, Climate Control A/C, PAS, Central Locking, rear wiper, sports velour seats, factory privacy rear glass, original leather steering wheel and shift knob, etc. This car has evidently been fastidiously maintained. The engine bay, interior, carpets, indicator stalk, pedal rubbers, oil pressure etc. - all show low wear.
Interior: It's very rare nowadays to find a BNR32 interior in such excellent condition. From 20 years of age, the seats could benefit from being shampoo'd but are intact. Note the ashtray is clean and unused. The previous long term owner was a non-smoker.
We noticed the following minor faults: On the dash there's 5 tiny holes where a navigation screen was previously fastened. These are hardly noticable, but we'll fill the orifices carefully with matching Silicone. On the rear quarter panel interior trim the cloth has come away slightly (Common fault on 32's). We'll re-afix this..
Centre console (Where the radar detector's located) has a hole for power lead. We'll replace this with another original. Finally, on the driver's door there's a couple of small cracks in the vinyl - we'll fill these in carefully with silicone when repairing the dashboard.
All of these faults are only tiny, but represent all that we found amis with this car and are mentioned to give a complete report, so you'll understand how tidy this GT-R really is.
Exterior: The paintwork on this car's been lovingly restored and the bodywork is in show entry condition. It's completely unmarked and shows signs of having been regularly polished and cared for.
It would appear this car's been owned by mature people, bearing in mind the total lack of corrosion, scratches, stone chips, pin dents & repairs. In keeping with the low mileage, it's rust free - with none of the rot often found on the rear arches or anywhere else on BNR32's, nor on the underside.
Note the condition of the engine bay also - aside from no corrosion at all, the engine's paint (On intake surge tank) is original and not peeling away. Another rarity nowadays.
Engine & Test Drive: There’s excellent oil pressure (4 kg/cm2 at idle when cold and 2.0kg/cm2 when at normal operating temperature) at idle shows this is a strong engine in good health. After careful warming and extensive checks we took this car out to test & can confirm it drives very well.
Being of standard tune the engine has hardly been stressed in it's life to date & feels tight and is silky smooth. Gearbox works well with a clutch that has plenty of life remaining. Suspension still feels taught and gives a comfortable ride. Brakes give confidence inspiring performance - being same spec as a 34 GT-R in a lighter car. It's nice to find an example where most attention's been given to handling and braking with no significant power increase. Clearly this R32 GT-R's been owned by one mature owner who never used it hard and cared well for it.
If you're after the nicest near original unmodified 32 you can find, this will be hard to better. If well kept this car will undoubtedly appreciate in years to come...
