As most of you know im doing my engine makeover and as i was working on it over the weekend and noticed this which has got me worried weather its safe to drive or not.

I'm most likely to not drive it and I can't really afford to go single at the mo.
If it needs to be sorted my options are
Buy a second hand turbo
Get my turbo refurbished
Or maybe Hybrids but am unsure of the costs, Ideally i would like to keep it as a twin turbo. I know allot of people go single as you can get more power but
im more than happy with 420bhp and still like the idea of having two turbos lol...................at the mo lol
Anyways I'm not a happy bunny, was really looking forward to our meets but it I'm not to sure when it will be back on the road, I have allot of thinking to do lol
Not only that my laptop has busted too!!! Great lol
What are your thoughts people

That doesn't look in the best of health mate, think out of the 2 options it would have to be go for the refurb? but all depends on the funds you have at the time?

DaveEdin Heh, I can't advise on the turbo matey - but I might be able to help with the laptop. Let me know what seems to be up with it and if I can help I will...
OOOO really Dave that would be great as its my second laptop that has gone. My new HP just turned it self off, when you turn it back on the lights on the side light up but the shuts down again, i dont know weather its got to hot or anything but i try and keep it vented when i use it, My old lap top done the same and they said the mother boad went. Both laptops, both blown in a year and a half

Phil01 if that was mine I would clean out the impeller housing and drive it for a few hundred miles, then recheck it, then make a decision on what to do, when was the last time you had checked it out in miles and have you noticed any symptoms whilst driving.

What im going to do is just have a look at the Turbo fins to see if i can see any hair line cracks, if not im going to put her back together,
I think they have been like this for a while, the turbo fins do not rub on the housing and there is no play in there too.
That gives me time to decide what i want to do but this is my next job for the car lol

Yeah that happened with one of my laptops, a Sony Vaio. Short of getting a new compatible laptop motherboard, the options to fix were very limited. So much so it was cheaper to buy a new laptop!
If yours is new (as you have indicated) then HP should fix it under warranty?
