It has come to our attention that a number of taxpayers have been receiving contact via email from HMRC in respect of refunds that are due to them. We understand that, when you open the email you will be prompted to enter your bank details.
Please be aware that this is a scam. HMRC do not send out emails of this nature.
This scam is also operated via telephone.
