Give it a few minutes, parthiban will be in to tell us how it's still all Labour's fault and there's nothing else the tories can do about it...

I personally believe that politicians are all scumbags out for themselves and themselves alone. I've met a fair few and they were all the same: smarmy gits.

Politics - from the conjunction of Poly (meaning many) and ticks (meaning blood sucking parasites)...

I got a kiss from an MP once............. It was Mrs Edwina Currie....... I am lucky to still be alive. But better then Cherry Blair.

We won a business award years ago and she presented the prizes and did a really good after dinner speech.

Lol did someone call?

I'm a bit confused though, haven't looked at it in much detail yet but from the basics on the BBC News website it looks like it's all tax cuts as far as the normal individual is concerned.

So why are we complaining, or have I missed something?

Am I right in thinking that by reducing duty on fuel but increasing production tax on oil companies, the net result will be an increase in fuel price at the pump?

Not necessarily, may have misinterpreted as only skim read it but my understanding is that the tax on them is linked to the oil price, so the incentive is to keep the oil price low.

Although I agree in practice there is a possibility things will end up as you've suggested.
