rear brakes
rear brakes
after changing my rear discs and pads yesterday i have a scraping noise coming from the rear passenger side,
ive adjusted the hand brake adjuster numerous times to see if thats the cause but came up with nothing.ive even played about with the shield behind to see if thats catching but its not.
any ideas to stop it? its driving me mad
i know what this is...it is the backing plate.... but its the inner one....remove the disk again and youll see the inner backing plate will have a polished part to it tap this back with a hammer job done....
did it myself,
its not coming from the new pads themselves it sounds like its coming from the handbrake shoes but even if there wound off completely the noise is still there, but only when the wheels on it becomes louder
how do you mean the inner one?
remove the disk again and you will see theirs two parts to a backing plate.......the part the shoes attach too and the bit you see behind the disk.......
its the part the shoes attach too that will be making the noise
ok cheers so just hammer the bit thats polished off ,ill have to do it tomorrow cos im just off to work so ill just turn the stereo up:wink:
why does it do that? ive never even touched that part
its to do with the machining of the disk...heres a pic i found
so just go to town on that bit with a hammer?
