Summer is on its way, and with it comes the annoyance of having a car that gets covered in dust and pollen immediately after you've just finished detailing it.

Under normal circumstances, someone as a.n.a.l as me would perform a complete wash of their car every few days using the two bucket method, followed by drying the car off with microfibre cloths and detailing sprays.

However....today I have experimented with a quicker way. Observe....

Step #1 (optional)

[Image: l_img_0156.jpg] [Image: l_img_0157.jpg]

If you've got a snowfoam lance attachment to your pressure washer, snowfoam the entire car and leave it to loosen up as much dirt as possible before it starts drying (normally 5-10mins).

Step #2

[Image: l_img_0160.jpg] [Image: l_img_0159.jpg] [Image: l_img_0158.jpg]

Jet wash the entire car, paying particular attention to the areas that get the most dusty (lower parts of panels, rear bumper, boot...etc). Once this is done, you can also use the 'sheeting' method where you run a slow but steady stream of water over the car direct from the hose to produce large water droplets.

Step #3

Grab one of these bad boys. A 2200w leaf blower from Argos which blows at over 200kmph!

Step #4

[Image: l_img_0164.jpg] [Image: l_img_0162.jpg]

Blow as much water off the car as you possibly can. The best thing about using a leaf blower on your car is that it can push water out of all those annoying areas where it normally drips from shortly after you've finished leathering off the car Smile

Step #5

[Image: l_img_0167.jpg] [Image: l_img_0165.jpg] [Image: l_img_0168.jpg]

Stand back and admire the quick wash that didn't require any buckets of water, any sponges, any cloths or leathers.

Cheers mate. I'm sure I'm not the first to come up with this method, but when I saw a leaf blower in Argos for £35 I had to give it a try.

My car had about 3 weeks of dust on it, and using this method had it perfect again after about 30 minutes

thats my kind of washing!!

I would think the paint will be well looked after also as your not using mechanical force to remove dirt................

totally worn out and broken, shouting 'Holy ****, WHAT A RIDE!'"

Yes, I should note that this will probably only work if your car beads water (has been waxed).

If your car is really dirty, you could certainly use this method as a quick way to make the car a bit cleaner. But it will work best on just road dust/pollen.

Its slightly to the left aye - but the lines of the TRD skirt and the pic make it look a lot worse than it is.

I've tried tugging it over but it doesn't really make any difference.

This one makes it look a bit more normal
