jimxms Lights remind me of an Alfa too.
It better have badass performance too if its going to look like that.
It says it's a hybrid, and will most likely replace the GS450h so I'd expect it to be an improvement on that, but probably not a whole lot faster.
Something I posted over the other side yesterday though, is whether you actually need hybrids any more. My dad got sent some info about the new CLS and I was amazed by the quoted figures in comparison to our older model and even a hybrid like the GS.
The new CLS350 does 0-60 in 6.1s, compared to 5.9s in the GS.
Combined mpg is 40.9 compared to 36.7 in the GS.
CO2 emissions are 161 compared to the GSs 179g/km.
Mercedes figures are usually quite accurate so based on numbers alone this one doesn't take much thought, but add in the size of the boot and the driving experience of having a proper gearbox rather than a CVT and you'd have to wonder whether the time spent creating the hybrid system is worthwhile compared to just making engines more efficient.
I suppose the flipside is whether if you combine an engine that efficient with a hybrid system would you get truly ridiculous economy but so far Mercedes or BMW haven't given us that..........
