At the risk of sounding like a complete dumbass...

They're breaking a car that I require bits off, the thing is, I havent been to a breakers yard for a good 15 years..

I take it I still need to take my tools to take the bits needed?- its not like the parts will be on the shelf waiting??

Ta,

No need to feel like a dumbass mate, Like Ian said. some are already dismantle and some you strip yourself.
What I would do is phone them and ask if they have the parts on the shelf or do I remove myself, that way you can go prepared with tools and work clothes.

At Bridges (Pease Pottage)they strip the cars of general and most wanted parts and store them on the shelves. Then they put the remainder of the car out in the yards for anyone to strip what is left. You can bring a toolbox, just allow them to view its contents on the way in and on the way out if asked.

When you arrive, you can ask then if they have parts you want on the shelf.

Also, when you go through, you go into one large area and if you cannot find what you want on the particular car in that area....a tip is, go to the top of the yard where fenced gate is and ask if they have the same make etc in there, if they do, they will let you go in and get what you need :thumbup1:

Happy hunting:biggrin:
