Unfortunately my clutch died on the m25 yesterday morning....hopefully it hasnt taken the fly wheel with it! Sad After an hour of sitting on the bank, the recovery truck finally came and we got the Lex (IS200) on the back...only just!

After the 4 mile trip home, and un-loading the car, I was left thinking do I just replace the clutch or upgrade to a stronger one?

Obviously if the cost isnt extortionate I'd prefer to upgrade.

So my question is this, what aftermarket/competition clutches are people running in their IS's and what would you recommend? Any inof on pricing would also be great!

Any help appreciated!

2 mins, and already a reply LOL! Now that's what I call service Smile

I had been recommended the Exedy stage 1, or stage 2 by a few, and they're around £400 I think?

Also, I want a kit that's going to be able to deal with a fair amount of abuse. I'll be supercharging the car soon and although I wont be driving it like a complete *****, it's inevitible that it'll get the odd donut here and there, so would be nice to over compensate Smile

i had the exedy in my skyline with lighter flywheel and uprated bearing, and it was a nightmare if you got stuck in traffic, not sure what stage it was now as it's been a while  but the Helix has always been pretty good, and always seemed to be the one to go for when changing them and aslo better for the supercharged is200's ? :thumbup1:

yeh the exedy was a killer to be honest mate, if you ever got stuck in traffic after a while you would need to pull over to give your legs a rest, held the power great and always gripped even under high revs and hard standing starts? can't remember which stage it was though? :thumbup1:

Fen Sport do very good clutches and their not heave on the foot either, its what jay and Stevie use - so good for in-excess of 250BHP without an issue..
