Black Glossy Di-Noc Interior
First I took the rear door wood/plastic parts off, I thought I'd try doing these first so I could get to grips with this Di-Noc material. To remove the trim I used a sharp levering tool with masking tape wrapped around the tip. As it turned out you don't need to use that much force at all the lift the parts away from the doors.
Rear door parts:

And stripped out, 3 screws and a couple of tabs, clean the parts well:

Then I thought I might as well do the fronts whilst I was at it. Here is the tool I used to help pry up the trim:

Centre console was easy to remove, you can do it by hand and only 2 small electric connectors:

Now it's all been re-fitted and I do like the look of it, obviously I'd prefer a proper Carbon Fibre interior but finding something for a Right Hand Drive car is impossible.
Not sure if I will keep the centre console wrapped as there are 1 or 2 bits not right (did I mention I hate this Di-Noc, it sticks to itself and is a ****** to use), but will definately keep the door trims.......and guess that is the beauty of this product, you get fed up with it then you just remove it.

Whilst surfing the US IS websites I saw a few had used Di-Noc on their interiors and quite liked the different look to the OEM wood/plastic that we have. I looked around on Ebay and found that other than the bog standard Di-Noc, they now do loads of different colours, including Glossy Black. So I took the plunge and bought some, below is how I got on:

Cheers guys, I'm just like the rest of us I guess, a perfectionist, so any slight imperfections really bug me:glare: This stuff is great if you have a nice easy surface to cover where you dont need to see any sides/ends, which for example you don't see on the large section of the centre console. I'm sure if you work with this stuff you could probably cover anything.......and there's the rub, we don't work with it.
As I said I'm not too sure about the centre console, the small flip lid to be more accurate and the ash tray cover. Well that didn't last very long. The car was parked in the sun and got hot inside causing the Di-Noc to lift on the edges of the flip lid.......so I stripped it off the console this morning.
However, I had a small strip left and thought I'd see what it looked like on a bit more of the console trim, see pics:

It looks good on its own but for me carbon fibre just doesn't go well with the wood next to it - is it expensive/possible to swap those pieces with the black wood finish that came in the later cars?

I didn't want the Di-Noc over the silver CF in the IS-F so was experimenting with real CF skinning using the rear seat centre section, as I had a spare to use as a test piece. I have the silver CF as well as the usual black.
If it had turned out OK I would have liked to skin all the silver CF with black, but by chance came across this on the net http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=499960

I've seen that thread too, it looks absolutely horrible! I assume it's worth the cost of whatever a pro charges to work with this stuff
