Why oh why does a high street branded garage use bright green snot coloured dust caps when they fill our lovely new Tyres with nitrogen.
Noticed them as soon as I walked towards the car, but in typical true Brit fashion didn't do anything. But......now some 8 hours later, looking at those little bobbles of boogers on my anthracite alloys is just driving me mad and I won't get a chance to get to halfords till the weekend.

But! Do I take this opportunity to improve on the ole plastic dust cap. What have you guys got?

Was thinking perhaps black aluminium but are these things good enough to hold the colour or will they chip?

If anything is likely to chip the dust caps... I'd be more worried about whatever it was chipping the alloys!

I would have thought the green caps were obvious, as there is no other way of detecting whether the tyres are Nitrogen filled?

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

Avoid cheap ones on ebay etc. Spend a few quid more and get branded ones, such as Richbrook, or at least ones that are made of a material guaranteed not to rust. I have had to cut many a valve off bikes in my time, only once on a car. A lot more hassle than it's worth.
