Hi there, I have an Altezza and most interior seems to be the same as an IS200. Just wondering is there a way to turn the passenger side airbag off, so I can put in a rear-facing babyseat? (some other family cars have this function). Thanks in advance

my spelling is bad what do you expect i am welsh :blushing:

Doesnt unplugging one airbag disable the whole system though?

Might be worth bearing in mind if so

Check this matey:

http://www.tokensolutions.net/products/L...elete.html

I imagine it'd also work for the IS200, but most importantly in the reviews section the writer mentions that 1 airbag deleted = all airbags deleted Confused

he got some trick bits on that site for the 300.

I just mentioned this on another thread!

I have read in more than one place (don't remember where now, years ago) that this may be the case. Though I think everyone said MAYBE the others will be disabled. It's certainly all controlled through ECU so I can believe it, and if there is a chance then it is always wise to fit a resistor if this to be a permanent thing. Though with a bit of electronics wizardry it may be possible to fit a switch, incorporating a resistor to give the functionality some other cars may come with? The resistor would also stop the warning light on the dash, as this is well known.

Of course if it was just for occasional short trips, you may be able to justify the POSSIBILITY that your other airbags MAY be temporarily disabled. Though it would be good to get confirmation on this, as my information is not 100% but Jim obviously read the same as me!

Though is it possible to fit the baby/child seat in the back? I know parent who just do that.

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

Indeed, I avoided the whole issue by putting the kids in the back seat Smile

Simples.

IS200 Sport - Sold
Mazda 6 MPS - Zoom Zoom!

Modifications
Completed:

Currently 280bhp/295lbft; 3" Meercat custom exhaust; KW Suspension; FMIC; SSP; HPFP; Custom Stainless Steel Dials - for the moment, the only set in the world!! (Till the group buy for MPSOC anyway  )

In Progress:

E-Tuning remap ongoing via Cobb Accessport; Braided brake lines; Stubby aerial; Tinted repeaters and sidelights; 3 Port Boost Control Solenoid; 3" HTP Intake

many thanks for the advice! Not sure what we'll do yet, don't want to jeapordise the long term safety of the car obviously. Was hoping it would have a switch to control them on/off like some other cars do, but never mind. Looks like baby cannot ride shotgun!
