A Witches life with Supras
A Witches life with Supras
Had my first Supra a very, very, very long time, an old Mkiii, which I bought because it looked like Knightriders KITT! It was mechanically a wreck, it used more oil than fuel and you had to hold the steering wheel tight as there was no stop at the rear of the rails the seats were on so you frequently found yourself in the back. Despite an every ten mile stop for oil topups, I loved this car and it served me well for a while .. but I am fascinated by pop up headlights .. and well, I broke them. Apparently they don't like popping up and down for no reason for hours and hours and hours. The repair bill would have been more than my life was worth so she went to Supra Heaven.
I was banned from buying another by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Supras but one night, slightly drunk, 4am, on ebay.. I found this:
The advert said it made the best noise you have ever heard and I pressed BID. It was very popular, even at that time of the morning and I had to work a bit to win it.. and then I had that 'OMG I bought a Supra' moment lol
She's a 1994 Import NA with the only mods being the stainless steel straight through exhaust, decatted and huge 19' wheels on ultra low profiles. The paint was a bit faded, the wheels had seen better days, the interior was ... well 1994 but the noise .. OMG to die for. She was set up for track and absolutely rock solid, your back really knew every bit of grit you went over. 19's aren't a great idea on a supra, even an NA and she was certainly lively and feisty and wild but the noise she made got into your soul. (Toxo hasn't got a soul lol cos he thinks she drones, but everyone else who has driven her and heard her has fallen in love, even Jim who has to surgically bended enough to get in and out of her lol)
I thought I would keep her six months and if I still liked supras, then I would swap her for a Twin Turbo. I called her Suki, got her wheels fixed and got through miles and tyres like a tornado.
Three years went by in a flash, she proved reliable and exciting, fuel and tyres aside she was remarkably reasonable to maintain with regular servicing and oil changes and I realised even though I liked the idea of a Twin Turbo, I couldn't actually part with her. I had no chance of the same noise from a TT. I put her in for a respray, bought her new wheels, changed the decals and with witch wisdom, decided to have stripes painted in properly. My reasons, partly because I have a soft spot for Mustangs and partly because it made her a slightly harder to find a buyer for car... shame I'd have to keep her huh
Stoney I've had a couple of 4am ebay cars myself. They often turn out to be the best ones!
What happened next then? You get bored of Supras and get a Mondeo?

keep the pictures coming sammi hope it leads to something purple cant wait to read to the end
Come on Sam, you can type faster than this.....
You've kept us all waiting for what 8 months now for this? Surely you could have already written it and copy/pasted in much faster! :p
the more you nag, the longer you'll wait :p I've finally started it .. and that's progress.. you won't be getting a lot more until I get all my pictures from the bodyshop and the mechanic :p
The orange goes a million different shades depending on the light and angle .. and it looks white under an orange street lamp, which freaked me out one night as I came downstairs to check on it at 3am
The green air filter was my very first reason for starting the project i have undertaken with this car, I hated it ! Not a lot of room under there is there .. the alarm man spent ages trying to find space to put the main box lol
I love my seats, not sure the orange will work with the final plan but I am going to decide on that once it's all finished.
My TRD carbon spoiler, not my favourite supra spoiler admittedly. I do love the stock supra shape of Suki but I am attached to my Do-Luck front spoiler on Pumpkin and a standard rear looks silly with it, so the TRD stays
