This is a really random question that I'm not sure if it's stupid or not!

Need to send a couple of letters to the US tomorrow, but don't think I'll get time to go to the post office. The stamp I need is 76p.

Will it work if I use a 1st class large letter stamp (75p) and a 1p or are those 1st class stamps only supposed to be used in the UK regardless of their value?

Think you should be able to use any current stamps up to the value of the cost of postage.

Yea that will work just fine, but will take 7 days or so to land in the US.

Funny thing is I just asked the Post Office here in Scottsdale the same question, and they said the 95cent stamp (1st class) is ample to get a standard letter to the UK in a week.

Yes, I'm pretty sure this is correct.

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

Cool thanks all for the replies - ended up getting someone else to go to the post office but will remember that for next time!

Generally gets to the US quicker than that though, from my experience it seems to be about 3 working days when using normal Airmail.
