shows and events
ok im going to have a little whinge in order to try and work out how we can get more people to attend shows and events especially the bigger organised ones as this is what the club as a whole attend the most, i appreciate that people have families and work and the price of petrol, blah blah blah lol, this has taken its toll already this year with the callender holding far less dates than last year, August with out an unattended event this should be the time the jap scene should be buzzin its bits off to the sound of engines and screetching smoking tyres, but nothing?
how as a club can we attract more people to come to events, theres now 1500+ users of this site and all love cars, so why do we only have 10 people attending santa pod finale and 40 for jae the only 2 shows left on the jap callender.
start booking time off work for these 2 amazing weekends, do some overtime to get a few more quid, sell ya looted tv lol.
please help keep the jap car scene alive or next year there may be no events to attend.
Personally i think theres too many shows.
I think we should drop some from the club calender; modified nationals, fastshow, being 2 i would suggest for a start (be in my opinion their too "chavvy").
and concentrate on going to the "big4" IMHO
Japshow 1 and 2, Japfest, and of course JAE.
Then add in the christmas do, Nurburgring trip, and a couple of random other meets (Plank and leggit, WIM, Moles Hole, etc) and thats 8 events in a year. which i think is just enough for people in regards to time/petrol/costs etc.
fair point so how do we go about getting more attendees to the biggest ones 10 and 40 are not very good numbers for a car scene of thousands? i may go into infiniti and ask them if they would like to bring a car along to jae to put on our club stand and see what they say? or for finale? what you think? gives them a selling oppertunity too.
hi guys would love to come to more shows but find tickets can be exspensive three of us attend plus petrol it costs me £100 every time.with me not working no more i can not afford it at the moment.my friend who comes with me we have an arrangement he cleans all the car for me and i pay for him to get in.i am also a member of ukstreetcars nearer home to me and alot of there shows thwy go to are only £5-£10 per ticket which is a good price to pay.would love to come to more outlawjapclub events but paying £30+ for tickets with 2 passengers gets exspensive im shaw if tickets were cheeper you would get more people to come.
I go to the main Jap ones, Japfest 1, santapods, now be a regular at modified live as i think that its one of the best shows of the year and of course JAE
They are great shows and really enjoy the camping side of it too, Really looking forward to JAE with you guys..
I do feel a bit guilty going on show n shine this year and not on the stand though but its only because i wanted to compete as much as i can as its fresh in the scene at the mo
I dont know if i can make it to the next SantaPod though
If you have not been to one of these shows before your really missing out, Great meeting members, awesome cars on the scene at the mo, get discounts from traders, drifting, burnouts, cars on fire lol...Good times
The only down fall is the cost to going to alot of shows these days
£30 ticket per person
£80 fuel
£20 food
etc etc
why not hold an event for outlawjapclub with invite for other clubs at places like wickstead park.i have been there then other clubs have had events on and i have paid £8 for car and all people in the car which is cheap and would be an awesome day out with toilets and places to get food from.i am shore more people would attend with out costing too much.
You know what I am missing - the friends from the Outlaw Jap Club, I really miss the shows, and not to go to JAE is really annoying me. I miss mini Milton Keynes meets at Purplewitches place: tea in glass mugs and alcohol by the bottle
I was a but sceptical the 1st couple of meets back in the LOC days, you never know what people are like face to face, but as it turned out I have made friends that will last and not just because of our love of cars - its the banter that goes with it, the whole package that you only really get when you go to the shows and meet the people and put faces and names to posts. You can further understand some peoples posts when you have met them and spoken to them properly.
If you are reading this and just not sure whether you would like to go to a show - try one, go for a day even a few hours if its local, and see it is so worthwhile.
Am going to JAE for the first time this year, very much looking forward to it...
Part of the trouble for me is getting to these shows. There's so few going on up in Scotland. Total Jap Car was great, and I'm looking to get to more shows if I can...
As said before a lot is probably money and location with me and Mike both having cars shows can cost us around £200 between us, although we manage because really there's only 4 or 5 that we go to, its still a lot of money for those with families etc. and with such a long drive for a day out with not a lot to do for youngsters its too awkward for some.
