Hey people

I have a 307 XSI HDI 110 which is my daily drive and I would like to get it remapped to give the car a little more power..

Another reason for doing this is that these cars have a DPF system which blocks and restricts the performance of the car too.

I know you can completely remove the DPF system so you don't get the DPF blocking plus gives you a few more horse power as well

On the off chance has anyone had any experience with this as I would like to know if you buy a new middle section exhaust or does the filter knock out of the original middle box?

Also has anyone else on here remapped there diesel ? Where did you have it done

Thanks

Anything with a turbo responds well to ecu tuning out of the box as the boost pressure and fuelling are set to very safe levels that are well within the tolerances of the engine.

I had a quick look for you and found tonnes of tuning boxes that you can buy for the 307 1.6HDI 110 but I dont know how these will work with the DPF. Plus it is better to use an ECU flash rather than a tuning box. This is becuase the engine then knows 100% what is going on. A tuning box just changes signals to the engine that have been sent out by the ECU wheras a remapped/chipped engine sends out the signals for higher perfomance from the ECU in the first place. However tuning boxes have their own advantages such as 30 min self install and easily removable plus they are in no way bad for the car its just better to remap.

I have seen quotes for anything between 130 bhp (Superchips remap which are generally very conservative) to 150 bhp from a tuning box (which will be purely a marketing number). So think 130-140 bhp.

I think you will need to do some research on a remaps implications to the DPF somewhere more Peugotey (though I know some of the larger VAG tuning companies will not touch a diesel with the DPF in place). However remapping your car is fine in principal and will be like getting a new car - just bear in mind that the service schedule needs to be kept to rigidly as you are running the engine that 30%ish harder.

Thanks for having a look as well mate

I already know a reasonable amount on tuning turbo cars but it was this DPF filter in the exhaust on the 307 which I'm mainly unsure about

These DPF's and EGR valves that dealers are doing in there diesels are really a load of poo....there trying to make them as clean as possible but there OIL BURNERS at the end of the day lol

No such thing as a reliable Diesel anymore

Unfortunately it's not much of a power gain on the Peugeot engines..I have the 110 so it will only be up to 130/140 , though I'm looking at getting a uprated Intercooler now lol..this seems to be turning into another little project lol. if I bought a 150bhp golf you can get them things to 170 though I'm not paying double money just to have a golf

I would never use those simple tuning boxes you get which is a plug in and play. IMO its cutting corners which I don't like doing

I have found out now that the DPF can be knocked out of the exhaust and when I get the ECU remapped they will tell the ECU that it no longer has DPF

Another thing the 307 has is a reservoir for full additive under the car, every time you open the fuel cap it squirts full cleaner in the tank to help clean the DPF so I'm hoping that can be removed too as there a real pain in the butt to fill up again

I had a 307hdi 90 fitted a huge front mount inter cooler removed the rear exhaust and had a custom side exit made had a decat and had no middle box I paid 250 for a stage 3 remap and it went from 90bhp to 145bhp and 240ftlb torque the car was an animal so quick I've been told the xsi as there 130bhp standard remap to about 160-170bhp

So your tuckin 15's, that's cute but come back to me when you get some proper size wheels

Cool ! Got any pics ?

I don't know why I'm doing this but I will get it remapped, DPF out and coil overs are only about £300 for the set so might put them on as I don't want to get rid of her as its a lovely car to drive...maybe a set of wider wheels too lol

I know you can get a 130bhp 307 HDi but I'm not sure if it's a XSI or a Quick silver... Mine is a XSI and it's 110
