BMW X3 Dash warning lights on and speedo not working.
I was driving it today and the dash warning lights for the 4x4 , abs , handbrake and tyre pressure were all on, all of which were yellow .
Also the speedo was not working but the rev counter was .:thumbdown:
Has anyone any idea what could be wrong and is there a fix for it ?

also if it has tyre pressure monitors in the wheels make sure all the tyres are with in 5 psi of each other that can also put the lights on..
awww poop just had a look on the forums mate and all the lights on could be a problem with the transfer case actuator....£1000 for the part and its a dealer only fit...best bet is to take it to bmw for diagnostic check as its only the bmw machine that can read the codes from the transmition ecu

it could be a fault with the handbrake unit(yes it puts all those lights on)or as simple as a speed sensor which will do the same..

as above get a dealer to run diagnostic just to make sure its a sensor then replace the sensor yourself...its only held on with one bolt

or try disconnecting the bat that will reset the light and see if it comes back on again

oh just remembered my mate had a very simalar problem with his x5(which uses the same system as your x3) his left rear speed sensor went faulty and his speedo stopped working and all the lights came on...the left speed sensor is what the speedo reading is taken off if that goes faulty it brings on all the lights..
as above get a dealer to run diagnostic just to make sure its a sensor then replace the sensor yourself...its only held on with one bolt

I don't know how far you are from me but if not to far you can use my cables and software to diagnose but the speed sensor or the ABS unit would be the most likely suspect.
I have CarSoft, INPA and PASoft here if that helps?
